18th October 2014 6-15’C 197km Kellberg – Luxumberg – Bastonge (Belgium) Another great day riding through the lush forests of Germany and Belgium, passing little scenic villages and towns on the way. 17th October 2014 12-15℃ 380km Giebelstadt – Meinz – Nürburgring – Kellberg Cruising country roads, I headed towards the historic city of Meinz, where I stopped for lunch before powering onto my destination for today, the Nürnburgring. 9-16th October 2014 15℃ 277km Munich – Giebelstadt I had a fantastic week spent with good friends; Nicholas, Melinda and family in Munich, plenty of time for relaxation, recuperation (with beer) and good food. At the same time, I took the opportunity to do some maintenance tasks on the bike, installing a new front tyre, as the previous one had reached the end of it’s useful life, after serving 24,000km all the way from Beijing to Munich. 8th October 2014 5-17’C 275km Zell am See – Munich (Germany) A quick pack up of the tent, before riding onto Germany and some brilliant views climbing over the pass, followed by awesome riding through the black forest, twisty roads, little traffic and falling autumn leaves. 7th October 2014 2-15℃ 264km Matrei – Zell am See It is always nice to stay in a family home, especially in Austria/Germany. Breakfast is served at the usual family table, with coffee, newspapers and generally quiet conversation. It’s a nice way to start the day. 6th October 2014 11-15’C 264km Lake Bohinjka – Tolmezzo (Italy) – Matrei (Austria) Three countries in one day today.
