Singapore – Kuala Lumpur

381km      Avg: 80km/h    37’C

The day started out with a nice breakfast send off with friends at Café Melba.  I had been stuffing around with the GPS the night before, and as a result, got lost on the way to the café and was late.  Then almost hit a dog that was running across the road, with its leash attached, but no owner in sight.  And all this before even leaving Singapore!

Once moving all was good.  The checkpoint at Tuas had a bit of a backlog of bikes, and as a result I had to sit in the sun for 30 mins, sweating amongst the scooters all transiting back to Johor.  Struck up a conversation with the immigration guy, when I told him “see you in a few months”

At the first petrol stop at Geylang Petah, I met two Norwegians.  A guy riding up to Kuala Lumpur with his son on the back of his FJR1300.  He asked “you going far? Thailand?”   To which I replied, “ummm, yeah I guess it is far. Europe”   They had a chuckle and we discussed the plan before they set out ahead of me, knowing I wouldn’t be able to keep their pace, as the bike is heavy.

The ride up the freeway to Kuala Lumpur was fairly uneventful, although hot.  37’ at the hottest point.   Arrived in Bangi and had dinner with friends in Ipoh Kopitam, Petaling Jaya, PJ State.

Tired now and heading to bed.
