Şile – Istanbul (Continental Europe)

Şile – Istanbul (Europe!)
It was an easy ride from Şile to the outskirts of Istanbul, sweeping corners on a fast road.
Reaching the Bosphorus bridge and riding across from Asia to Europe was a huge milestone for me, and I laughed loudly into my helmet as I rode, ecstatic at reaching the continent of Europe.
I made my way to the factory of Globescout panniers, where I met the guys who made my aluminium panniers, and they had some of the team fix a seal for me, while we had lunch.
With that task complete, I said goodbye and rode towards BMW Istanbul, although in the complex maze of Istanbul on-ramps, I missed a turn and ended up back on the Bosphorus bridge and over in Asia again. After a u-turn on the Asian side, I looped back across the bridge again, and back to Europe.
Eventually I found my way, reached BMW, and dropped off the bike for a major service.
I should be able to pick it back up in a couple of days, and in the meantime have time to explore Istanbul and all its sights.
Congrats – by the looks of it you are nearly in Bucharest 🙂 What were the people doing walking in the middle of the road?
Thanks! Yeah, I passed Bucharest today. Those crazies in the middle of a freeway, are people selling water…. Nuts.
They are nuts indeed – there must be demand though if they are doing it.
