Blowout No#2. :-( Quote of
the day: "O-oh. Now we are really stuffed"
With no spare (since it had blown out between Cobar & Wilcannia) and
about 30km from Broken Hill, out of GSM mobile range (thanks Telstra),
we sat and waited until some friendly locals stopped to help. We
interuppted their beer drinking, and were able to use their mobile phone
(CDMA works in the country!) to call the road service in Broken Hill,
who picked us up and took us into Broken Hill Caravan Park. We
were to find out that the tires on our 4WD are rare in the bush, and had
to wait 2 days for a delivery of two new tires to arrive from Adelaide.
We took this as an opportunity to walk around Broken Hill & admire the
town and its underground wealth.
